This delightful country house, built in 1846, for the Rev. Alexander Crawford Bromehead, is set in extensive grounds laid out by a celebrated Victorian horticulturist.  Its rolling lawns and hidden copses still contain many fine specimen trees such as Cedar, Yew and Bay, from the original plantings in the 1850s.

The Old Vicarage is comfortable rather than grand, and exudes an aura of hospitality - it is easy to imagine that, 100 years ago, this house was used for entertaining on a lavish scale.

Nowadays, guests enjoy internationally recognised, award-winning food by T.V. chef Tessa Bramley. Her innovative blend of modern British cooking has earned The Old Vicarage prestigious Star Awards from the Michelin and Egon Ronay Guides.
